Former PM Manmohan Singh Hospitalized at AIIMS Delhi

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi on Wednesday due to health reasons. The veteran Congress leader, known for his non-hotheaded nature, has been a big contributor to India's economic reforms and now is under medical observation, due to which doctors are observing him keenly regarding his health.

Health Update

It is not known what his health condition is, but AIIMS sources have confirmed that he is stable and receiving the best care. He is 91 years old and had other health issues in the past. He had fallen sick during the COVID-19 wave in 2021 and also underwent a cardiac procedure in 2009. His latest hospitalization has, therefore, been a matter of cause for concern and good wishes all around the political spectrum.

Top Politicians Visiting the Hospital

Both party leaders started thronging AIIMS to know the health status of Dr. Singh. In the first line were Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and BJP President JP Nadda, which underlines his stature across party lines.

Priyanka Gandhi, while talking to mediapersons outside the hospital, said, "Dr. Manmohan Singh is a pillar of strength for our nation. Hope he recovers quickly." JP Nadda, in similar words, said, "No contributions can be compared with that of Dr. Singh for the growth of India. May God bless him and his family in this hour of need."

Wider Nation Concern

The news of Dr. Singh's hospitalization spread like wildfire. Political leaders, economists, and citizens alike took to social media to wish him a speedy recovery. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Praying for the speedy recovery of Dr. Manmohan Ji. May he regain his health soon." Similarly, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi posted his heartfelt wishes: "Guiding light for generations, Dr. Singh."

He is the former Prime Minister of India, who led the nation from 2004 to 2014. He is the architect of India's economic liberalization. His period saw very significant policy decisions that placed India on the world map as an emerging economic powerhouse. Though he is a quiet person, work speaks volumes about the commitment he has towards the nation.

The Road Ahead

Well, as of now, the nation is holding its breath because the health of Dr. Singh remains stable, though further updates are being awaited. The AIIMS medical team is soon to be issuing an official statement through which his condition and treatment process would be cleared. In this connection, everyone is still awaiting his recovery, one of the most respectable leaders of India.

Bipartisan outpouring of goodwill for Dr. Manmohan Singh and his legacy as a leader who went across party lines to work for the nation.
